Our unrivalled position on the Ashdown Forest, home to AA Milne's Winnie the Pooh, provides 6,000 square acres of un-spoilt forest for walkers and families to explore. Our close proximity to the Cuckoo Trail and Southdowns Way also makes for an excellent base for ramblers and cyclists. ACCOMMODATION
We have two double rooms and one twin room all with private en-suite facilities. All rooms are tastefully decorated, with tea/coffee making facilities and colour TV's. We pride ourselves on the standard or our furnishings, fittings and linens and have tried to cover every detail to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Room rates Double/Twin En-suite - 1 Night stay -from £55 per room per night including full English breakfast. Rooms can be sold at single occupancy rate of £35 per room per night, also including full English breakfast. Longer stay terms can be negotiated. We have ample parking facilities for guests who also enjoy their own private entrance to this 'annexe' style accommodation. So no traipsing through someone's own front lounge to get to your room! This also gives you the freedom to come and go as you like. There is also a small kitchen with fridge etc. to keep any provisions fresh, chill drinks etc. during your stay. Enjoy a leisurely, hearty cooked breakfast, using only the best locally sourced produce, served along side a variety of yoghurts, cereals and fresh fruit. Alex is more than happy to accommodate any special dietary needs and weather permitting, breakfast can be eaten 'al fresco', taking in the spectacular views of the South Downs. |

Attractions Local attractions include Ashdown Forest Lama Park, Bateman's (home of Rudyard Kipling), Borde Hill Gardens, Chartwell (Winston Churchill's Home),The Bluebell Steam Railway, Pooh Corner, Glyndebourne Opera House, Groombridge Place Gardens, Heaven Farm, Michelham Priory, Seven Sisters Country Park, Wakehurst Place, Sheffield Park Gardens and Hever Castle. Activities Hot air balloon rides, golf and horse riding are all available locally, our location directly on the Ashdown Forest, makes it ideal for walkers to explore this ancient hunting ground. Maps and pub walking guides are all available when you arrive or suggested itineraries can be posted to you beforehand so that you can plan your stay. Cycle or walk along the 11 mile Cuckoo Trail from Heathfield to Polegate or the Forest Way, a 9 mile flat tree-lined track which winds through from East Grinstead to Groombridge. Eating Out In Nutley village itself we have two restaurants and a local pub. Within a short drive is an excellent selection of traditional Sussex pubs, including the Griffin Inn (Fletching), The Hatch (Coleman's Hatch), The Peacock Inn (Piltdown) and the Coach and Horses (Chelwood Gate) - voted Sussex Dining Pub of the Year 2004. Reservations at the weekend in summer are advisable, full details will be given on request. |
