This page tells you a bit about our B&B in some of the loveliest countryside in England. We (Wendy and James) are located in Seal, a charming old village in rural Kent but only 3 miles (5 kms) from Sevenoaks station from where it is just 31 minutes by train to Charing Cross station in the very centre of London!

If you are looking for a relaxing, friendly, informal atmosphere we will be delighted to welcome you toour very comfortable, modern detached house, which is quietly situated.

We have three rooms to let, all en-suite, one double room, one twin room and one single room. The double room can be converted to a family room by theaddition of an extra one or two beds.

All rooms are centrally heated, have a colour television and tea/coffee making facilities. The windowsare all double-glazed.

Children are welcome, and a high chair and travel cot are available. Guests have their own key and freeaccess. There is off-road parking for four cars.

The accommodation has been inspected and approved by the local tourist office and we are a memberof the South East England Tourist Board. We are listed in the Heart of Kent Holiday Guide and theSEETB Where to Stay in the South East. James speaks French, Italian, Spanish and a little German.

About Sevenoaks and Seal

Around 30 miles (48km) from the centre of London, less than half an hour's drivefrom Gatwick International airport and close to the ferry and channel tunnel portson England's south coast, Sevenoaks is well placed to welcome international visitors.

But our convenient location is just the beginning. Situated in some of England's mostbeautiful countryside, Sevenoaks provides a wealth of leisure opportunities.

From historic castles, beautiful gardens, vineyards and picturesque villages tosporting facilities among the best in Britain, Sevenoaks superbly caters for all interests.

Where else can you follow in the footsteps of Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII (atHever Castle) and Winston Churchill (at Chartwell), enjoy a round of golf on achampionship standard course, witness the workings of one of Britain's foremostwine makers (at Penshurst) and meander through the grounds of some of the mostbeautifully preserved stately homes (at Knole House and Park, Ightham Mote andother National Trust properties in the area)? And all within convenient distances ofeach other.

And then there are the village pubs with all the different English beers.

And remember Sevenoaks is only 35 minutes by train from central London so you canunderstand why so many people choose to stay here.

The village of Seal itself, just 3 miles or 5km from Sevenoaks, has an old church, afew local shops and three pubs and two restaurants (Chinese and Indian -both good) and a kebab/pizza takeaway. All of them are within a ten minute walk of our house!

(NB The Double room can be converted to a Family Room by the addition of one or two extra beds.) The rates include Full English Breakfast. Vegetarian options are available since Wendy is a vegetarian, but James is most definitely not! Discounted rates are available for stays of 3 nights or longer. The charges that we quote are totally inclusive and are notsubject to any extra taxes, commissions or service charges.

From Dover, Folkestone or Channel Tunnel

Take M20 then M26 for only a few hundred metres. Exit at junction 2A signposted Sevenoaks.

NB there is no exit westbound on M25 at junction 5. If you miss exit 2A you will have to go all the way to Junction 6 (A22) and come back.

Follow signs for A25 Sevenoaks until you reach village of Seal.

100M after only (pedestrian) traffic lights turn right into school lane signposted towards Kemsing.

Turn left at the T-junction with Childsbridge Lane and number 86 is approx 400M on the right hand side just before the bus stop.

The house is the last of four modern detached houses, and has a green garage door.

There is parking space for four cars so pull in and park in front of the house.

How to get to 86 Childsbridge Lane, Seal, Sevenoaks, Kent

From Gatwick Airport

Follow signs for M23 London to Junction 8 (M25). Then be careful to follow signs for Dartford M25.

Continue on M25 until Junction 5.

From M25 Junction 5 follow signs for Sevenoaks (at first A21 then A25).

Go through Bessels Green and down Worships Hill into Riverhead.

At roundabout at bottom of hill follow sign for A25 Maidstone.

Continue along this road through three sets of traffic lights (one of them pedestrian) until you reach village of Seal.

Just after 30 mph signs turn left into school lane signposted towards Kemsing.

Turn left at the T-junction with Childsbridge Lane and number 86 is approx 400M on the right hand side just before the bus stop.

The house is the last of four modern detached houses, and has a green garage door.

From Heathrow Airport and the West

To begin with follow signs for M23 Gatwick then when you are on the M25 continue on M25 until junction 5.

From M25 junction 5 follow signs for Sevenoaks (at first a21 then a25).Go through Bessels Green and down Worships Hill into Riverhead.
