LOCAL AREA

The Well (Fons Scotiae), has been around for thousands of years and is famous for its healing properties, we would recommend you try the water from the Well but cannot guarentee a hangover cure from sampling the range of beers and malt whiskey's from the other "Well".

Loch Leven is another popular attraction in the area with Vane Farm run by the RSPB and picnic sites offering splendid views on to St Serfs Island which is now part of a National Nature Reserve, and a wooded islet which is home to Loch Leven Castle which is some 600 years old, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned and can be visited by the small ferry from April-September.

There is no doubt that Tayside and the surrounding area is beloved to golfers, both the keen and family holiday golfer. The variety of the courses in this area of Scotland is remarkable. Many of the surrounding areas courses are as demanding and testing as any in Britain, with approx. 100 courses within 1 hours drive from Kinross. It is a challenge in itself to keep your eye on the ball in such splendid surroundings.

YOU CAN BE SURE OF THE FRIENDLIEST OF WELCOMES FROM THE FIRST TEE TO THE 19TH HOLE.

Game shooting is another popular sport in this area so here at The Well Country Inn some of bedrooms are fitted with gunsafes and we have kennel facilities, a hanging room and a drying room for the use of our guests participating in this sport. Please contact us for further information.

Tayside is renowned for it's Trout fishing with Loch Leven in Kinross being internationally famous for it's unique pink fleshed trout, but there is also a great deal more Salmon, Sea Trout and Brown Trout fisheries. Tayside provides all that Scottish fishing is famous for:
