About Valley View Bed And Breakfast

Valley View, a detached private house, next to the village cricket field is situated in Calver - a village nestling in the Hope Valley in the heart of the Peak District National Park. An ideal base for walking, sightseeing, cycling, and rock climbing.

There are 3 excellent Pubs within a few minutes stroll where evening meals are available.

The views from all our rooms are superb and stunning towards Eyam, Longstone Moor, Curbar Edge, and Chatsworth depending upon the room.

All bedrooms are tastefully decorated, with either twin or double beds with duvets, wall mounted 'Flat Screen' television, a hospitality tray with tea, coffee and biscuits. All with luxury en-suite bathrooms containing both a bath and shower, toilet and washbasin.

An iron and ironing board is available for use.

Valley View is a Non-smoking environment.

Traditional breakfasts are served downstairs in the dining room. A wide choice of cereals are available, and fruit juice, followed by a hearty breakfast with freshly brewed tea and coffee.

The district was the location for the television series 'Peak Practice' and 'Pride and Prejudice'.

Valley View close to Baslow, Cliff College, Froggatt, Grindleford, Curbar, Stoney Middleton, Hathersage, Hassop, Castleton and Bakewell. It is conveniently placed for Chatsworth House - 3 miles; Haddon Hall - 5 miles and Eyam Hall - 2 miles (in the plague village of Eyam).Many other attractions are available close by.

The self-contained cottage comprises a double bedded room with wall mounted 'Flat Screen' television, radio alarm and fully tiled en-suite bathroom with bath and shower; plus your own private lounge with wall mounted 'Flat Screen' television, fridge, hospitality tray, hairdryer and futon.

Your own parking space for 1 car is next to the cottage.

A personal key allows you to come and go as you wish.

Breakfast is served in the dining room in the house.

The large en-suite bathroom is fully tiled with a large corner bath, corner shower and generously sized heated towel radiator. There are extensive views towards Curbar Edge.

The room can be used as either a twin bedded room or a super king size bedded room . It has splendid views towards Curbar and Baslow Edge. It has a wall mounted 'Flat Screen' television with teletext, hairdryer, radio alarm, and a well stocked hospitality tray.

The fully tiled bathroom has a bath and corner shower, heated towel radiator and extensive views.

We have a minimum stay of 2 nights (3 nights at Bank Holidays)

Guest arrival times: Between 4.30 p.m. and 6 p.m. unless a different time is arranged at the time of booking.

Location

The village is the start of many fine walks. Walkers to the area will find the stunning scenery from Curbar and Froggatt edge breathtaking.

The village hosts 3 pubs, (Bridge Inn, Eyre Arms and Derwentwater Arms) where evening meals are available, also Derbyshire Craft Centre, Petrol station, Spa Shop, Garden Centres and a Post Office.

Chatsworth House, Park, and Farm shop are approximately 4 miles away. Rowsley (7 miles) with the new shopping complex and visit Cauldwell's Mill.

The bustling market town of Bakewell, famous for its Bakewell Puddings, is 5 miles away and Haddon Hall, is only a short distance away.

In the historic village of Eyam (2 miles), where, during 1665, the plague came to from London in a box of cloth, visit Eyam Hall. Castleton, the gem of the Peak with it's Blue-John Cavern attracts visitors from all over the world.

Other pretty Peakland villages including, Alport, Milldale, Hartington and Bonsall are easily accessible.

The Peak District is 555 square miles with 1,600 miles of footpaths, and most of it can be easily be accessed form Calver, including the Staffordshire moorlands home to the pretty village of Longnor and interesting rock formations of The Roaches, the High Peak areas like Edale, Mam Tor and Castleton and the beautiful Goyt Valley above Buxton.
