From Balloch, guests can take a cruise on the loch, starting at the River Leven and view some of the many islands and baronial mansions which lie along the loch shores.

Cycles can be hired and there is a cycle path, which stretches for 21 miles from Balloch to Glasgow. Balloch also boasts Balloch Castle situated in the grounds of Ballock Country Park. The original castle was built in 1238 for the Earls of Lennox.The present building dates from 1808. Balloch Country Park extends to 200 acres and has a guided nature walk, walled garden and spectacular views of Loch Lomond. Walkers are well catered for in this area.

A short walk from the farm is the Drovers Tail, which stretches for approx. 7kms to Cardross on the shores of the River Clyde. From this path, there are magnificent views the length of Loch Lomond. Horse riding, fishing and water sports are all within easy reach.

About Tullichewan Farm

Our Bed and Breakfast accommodation is within a newly built extension to the farmhouse. The extension is self contained which allows guests to come and go as they please.

We have one twin and one double bedroom, both of which are fully en suite. The rooms are tastefully decorated and have French windows leading to a private patio and garden. There are tea/coffee making facilities, radio alarms, colour televisions and hairdryers in each room. We offer a breakfast menu, which includes a full Scottish breakfast and a buffet of cereals, yoghurts, fruit juice etc. An evening meal is available by arrangement.

We have recently been inspected by The Scottish Tourist Board and have been awarded a grading of Four Stars Bed and Breakfast. Although peacefully situated, we are only twenty five minutes from Glasgow, which was City of Architecture, 1999, and boasts excellent shopping, restaurantsand theatres. We are ideally situated with easy access from the A82, which connects with all main routes, and we are therefore a perfect base for touring Stirling and Central Scotland, the Trossachs are just over an hour's drive from Edinburgh.

The town of Helensburgh is 8 miles away and is the home of the world famous Charles Rennie Mackintosh "Hill House".

M6 - The end of the motorway leads onto the A74.

A74 - Becomes the M74

M74 - Exit at junction 4, leading onto M73.

M73 - Exit at junction 2, leading onto M8 Glasgow City Centre (Westbound).

A8 - Exit at junction 30, leading onto M898

M898 - Becomes A898 Erskine Bridge.

A898 - Erskine Bridge (60p toll), keep to left hand lane when crossing the bridge. Join A82.

A82 - Follow Loch Lomond signs

On approaching Loch Lomond turn left at the Balloch roundabout into Upper Stoneymollan road. Follow the road up the hill until you come to Tullichewan Farm

M8 - Join the M8 motorway westbound (Greenock/Erskine Bridge) exit junction 30 M898

Directions from Prestwick Airport

M77 - Glasgow bound take the exit for the Clyde Tunnel. Follow the signs for the M8 westbound (Greenock/Erskine Bridge) exit Junction 30 M898.
