Burghley House, a fine example of an Elizabethan stately home is a major visitor attraction. Rutland Water is minutes away, offering the chance of memorable experiences cycling, walking, fishing and bird watching in the glorious Rutland countryside. For the energetic, there is sailing and windsurfing on the 3000 ac Rutland Water or waterskiing, jetskiing and dry slope skiing 20 minutes away at Tallington. There are also 4 golf courses within a 10 minute drive. Enjoy Rutland, with its' picturesque villages and the market towns of Oakham and Uppingham. You'll find castles, stately homes and ancient churches nearby too. For a relaxing option, visit Geoff Hamilton's well known TV gardens at Barnsdale, or take a cruise on the Rutland Belle.
