| Location The house enjoys a convenient and pleasant rural location in the hamlet of Throapham in South Yorkshire, just three miles from the M1/M18/A57 junction and within easy reach of the A1, Robin Hood Airport and the centres of Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Worksop. The counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire are nearby, making Throapham House an ideal base for both business and tourist visitors to the region. We are within walking distance of Dinnington and Laughton, with a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants available. |
| Parking Off road parking is available on-site. Accommodation We have three spacious double guest rooms, all en-suite with shower. Our principal room has a bath with separate shower cubical and can be converted to a twin on request. | Our Local Area A short walk from the house brings you to open countryside with views over the Trent valley towards Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. This largely rural area has many historical villages and market towns to explore. About 6 miles to the south is Sherwood Forest, long associated with Robin Hood. The beautiful grounds of the Clumber Park estate are maintained by the National Trust and are well worth a visit with a picnic hamper. To the west is the Peak District National Park with its stunning moorland scenery, historic houses and many picturesque communities. To the north we have the vibrant city of Sheffield and the South Yorkshire towns of Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham which have all undergone major redevelopment. Known worldwide for the manufacture of specialist steel and advanced materials, Sheffield also has some fine theatres, concert halls and world class sports facilities. |

| Directions From M1 juction 31 Take the A57 towards Worksop Turn left at the next traffic lights (1m) Continue until you reach a roundabout (1.5m) Take the exit sign posted Oldcotes and Throapham onto Common Road, which becomes Oldcotes Road as you enter Throapham (1m) Throapham House is on the left 200 yards after the Throapham sign Turn left into the courtyard before our sign From M18 heading South Join the M1 South (do not follow the signs for Sheffield) and exit at junction 31, then follow the instructions above From A1 roundabout at Blyth Take the exit leading to Blyth village Turn right after the church onto the A634 towards Rotherham When you reach the roundabout in Oldcotes (2.5m) take the first exit towards Worksop After 200 yards turn right to Dinnington Continue until you reach Throapham (2.5m) Throapham House is 100 yards on the right |
