The Dolphin was built in the late 19th Century as a coaching house. Today its welcome is as warm ever providing the perfect place for a relaxing drink, a delicious meal and comfortable en-suite accommodation.  The Dolphin combines a friendly, cosy atmosphere with traditional hospitality that will make you want to return again and again. For a business venue or holiday base, the Dolphin is conveniently situated just minutes from the A38.  Banqueting Suite Over the years additions and alterations to the Dolphin have resulted in facilities which now enable us to accommodate parties from 30 to 100 for a sit down meal or up to 150 for a buffet. Our first floor banqueting suite with its pleasing décor, private bar and central wooden sprung dance floor make it the ideal venue for dances, parties, wedding receptions, business conferences and functions of all types.  We shall be delighted to discuss your individual requirements And help make your special occasion a success. We can help with everything from selection of set or special menus, suggesting and arranging the musical entertainment, ordering flowers, organising speeches, to arranging return transport. Please call in to view our excellent facilities first hand. Bedrooms There are eight en-suite bedrooms - 3 double, 3 twin, 1 single and 1 family. All are comfortably furnished and individually heated. Each room has a remote controlled television, radio and tea/coffee making facilities, trouser press and hairdryer. After an enjoyable evening why not stay over or alternatively come for a weekend break - check our special out-of-season tariff.  Tariff Single room £45.00 Double room £55.00 All sorts of sports right on the doorstep The Dolphin Hotel is well placed on the fringe of Dartmoor for lots of different sports and pastimes. If golf is your game there's the famous Manor house Course at nearby Moretonhampstead and Stover Golf Club just a mile away. The area abounds with riding stables which cater for the novice or experienced rider. The River Dart and Teign provide superb game fishing or if course fishing is more your style, there are plenty of lakes with Hennock Reservoirs a few miles from the town. If you enjoy walking, you'll be spoilt for choice. You can set straight off from the hotel and almost immediately be in glorious open countryside.
