| The Cricketers offer a seasonally changing menu, in both the restaurant and the bar, to take advantage of the freshest available produce. The restaurant menu has a fixed price of £26.00 per head for 3 courses or £21.50 for 2 courses, with the bar menu individually priced. Our entire menu is freshly prepared on the premises by accredited chefs. In addition to our normal menus, various specials are available, with a fish menu served every Tuesday. A roast joint is served from our carving trolley in the bar, every weekday lunchtime (except Tuesday) and Wednesday and Sunday evenings for £7.95. There is an extensive salad bar 7 days a week with menu choices to cater for the vegetarian.We can also cater for functions and we will be happy to discuss your requirements with you. |

| This country pub is where Jamie Oliver - BBC's "Naked Chef" - grew up. Although he no longer cooks at The Cricketers, it was here that he first started to cook at the age of eight, under the guidance of his parents, the owners, Trevor and Sally Oliver. |
| Dinner Menu £23.00 including vat for 3 courses - £19 including vat for 2 courses Starters A tossed salad with prawns, smoked salmon ribbons and a lemon and olive oil dressing. A medallion of shark loin, seared and served on a julienne of chard, courgette and beetroot. Whitebait, fried and served with a home made tartare sauce. A tian of cooled, poached salmon, avocado pear and mascarpone cheese with a sharp tomato vinaigrette. Japanese style nori roll with sushi rice and oriental vegetables, wrapped in crispy seaweed. Confit of duck, with white haricot beans, bacon and asparagus on a mixed leaf and herb salad. Pappardelle with mixed wild mushrooms, toasted pine kernels and freshly grated Parmesan. A terrine of pork and ham, studded with pistachio nuts and served with an apple, redcurrant and sage sauce. Chilled melon with seasonal berries and a fresh mint and Pimms syrup. Freshly made soup of the day. *** Main Courses Served with a selection of fresh vegetables. Fillet of monkfish garnished with a fine baton of vegetables, on a light Thai curry sauce. A filleted trout with a crabmeat, prawn and ginger sauce. Medallions of beef fillet, layered with blue cheese and filo pastry, served on a rich port wine sauce. Spicy char grilled supreme of chicken served on noodles with a Szechuan peppercorn sauce. Fillet of pork wrapped in serrano ham then sliced on to a cheese and mustard sauce. Rack of lamb with a herby brioche crust, roasted pink and sliced on to a tomato and cardamom coulis. Escalope of veal, char grilled and served with a wild mushroom sauce. Sautéed lambs liver and bacon served with a sweetcorn fritter on a thick pea sauce. Home made pie of turkey, mushroom, onion and mixed peppers in a creamy sherry sauce, topped with a puff pastry lid. | Our accommodation, in 'The Pavilion', which is immediately adjacent to The Cricketers, consists of eight rooms. Two have four-poster beds and all are individually decorated and furnished to a very high standard in a cottage style. |
