Welcome to 'The Old Town Hall' at Redmire, peace and tranquility in the beautiful countryside of Wensleydale. We have 3 luxuriously appointed rooms and serve only the best quality produce for our leisurely breakfasts and home cooked evening meals. If you would like an evening meal please give us a little notice as our food is freshly prepared for you.

History
The building was constructed in 1862 by Christopher Other on a piece of land his family had been given to enclose in 1806. It was used for dances, wedding receptions and social gatherings up until as recently as 1966 when it was sold and converted into a house. In 2005 The Old Town Hall Bed & Breakfast was opened and has recently been upgraded to provide a guests lounge, and we now offer home cooked evening meals.

Food
For a completely relaxing experience why not take advantage of our home cooked supper. We offer three courses of home cooked food and coffee served in the guest lounge or dining room, with food prepared to your taste. A small amount of notice is appreciated as all food is freshly prepared. Alternatively there is a pub in the village that serves very good bar meals or we can take you to Leyburn or Reeth and collect you (Between 6.30and 11.00) for a small contribution to cover our costs.

Tea Room
Our Tea Room is bright and modern, offering afternoon and cream teas, hot and cold sandwiches, cakes and home made soup. A hot lunch is always available which changes daily.

Our lounge offers comfortable sofas and a coffee table for a more relaxed atmosphere.

Walking and Cycling
Wensleydale and the surrounding dales offer some of the best cycling and walking in England. With stunning scenery and idyllic market towns you will find unforgetable routes and walks for all abilities. The Old Town Hall is situated on The Yorkshire Dales Cycle Way and The Herriot Way and serves as an ideal base for these and many other routes and walks. We have secure storage for your bicycles and drying facilities for your boots / clothing should the weather not be quite as kind as you hoped! Visitors to The Dales in the autumn and winter months will benefit from seeing the many waterfalls in the area at their "full" and most spectacular, making the occasional rain a definate plus.
