The Manor is an old rectory in the historic market town of Cheadle, Staffordshire. Built in 1758 it has now been refurbished to offer excellent facilities and accommodation. Though not classed as a hotel, it offers the personal attention of a guest house with the benefits of a hotel such as banqueting, wedding and dining facilities. The Manor is a favourite for those visiting Alton Towers just 15 minutes away. Local attractions include steam railways, the pottery museums in Stoke on Trent, Uttoxeter races and of course Pugin's Gem. As you enter the front door of the Manor you immediately have a feeling of warmth. The hallway has its original Minton floor that it shares with St Giles the Abbott church opposite. The original main staircase of the house is beautifully constructed in oak and demonstrates the craftsmanship of the 1750's. Reception is at the far end of the hall towards to the garden.  |
Our bedrooms are situated in the grounds of the Manor, not even twenty paces from the main reception entrance. There are five ground floor and six first floor rooms. All rooms are en suite with shower, WC and wash hand basin. As standard we now offer a well stocked welcome tray, TV, alarm clock and radio. All our rooms have duvets and large comfy pillows. Hairdryers and Irons and boards are all available on request. The Manor Stables is great for families and groups of friends alike. This has two large bedrooms and single bedroom and can sleep up to 6 adults or up to 8 with children. There is at present a family bathroom and a small communal area. Our Rooms Doubles -Double bed . Family x 3 - Have a double bed and a fixed single bed. Family x 4 - Have a double bed and two fixed singles beds. Travel cots - Available on request All our rooms are no smoking. Customers wishing to smoke are free to use the garden. It is a condition of booking that customers do not smoke in bedrooms. As a condition of booking, customers also agree not to bring take away food into the Manor. We wish all customers to find their accommodation in the best possible condition on arrival. Takeaway food causes unpleasant difficult to shift odours as well as unwanted stains to linen and carpets. Failure to respect the smoking and food policies will result in an extra cleaning charge equivalent to one night room rate.

Our prices There is the facility to check availability and book online via our website. If you prefer to book by phone just give us a call. We operate a flexible seasonal pricing policy where rates can change daily according to demand. Normally the further out a room is booked the better the price. Cancellation policy For individual bookings cancellation is free up to midday, three days before arrival. If cancelled later the first night will be charged. For group bookings of three or more rooms cancellation is free up to midday seven days before arrival. If cancelled later the first night will be charged. For longer stays of four or more nights the first two nights will be charged. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ARRIVALS Check in - Earliest check in time is 15.00hrs. Latest check in time is 22.00hrs. We regret that as we do not employ night staff we are unable to welcome guests after this time. Customers not arriving by this time will be considered as "No Show" and the full room rate will be charged. |
Dining The beech tree restaurant opens every day for dinner except Sunday. Dinner is served in the Garden and Beech rooms, and is informal and relaxed. Summer opening 6.00pm to 9.00pm The menu is designed to suit most tastes with grills as well as daily and weekly specialities. A sample menu is detailed Younger guests have their own menu to suite their tastes. Vegetarian dishes are always readily available. The Garden Bar Open from 5.30 to 10.30 Monday to Thursday and 11.00pm Friday and Saturday. Closed Sunday night. Private dining The Manor welcomes smaller parties for private dining up to 20 guests. It is ideal for family gatherings and business dinners. The Oak room is situated on the first floor and has a great view of the walled garden. This room can accept up to 20 guests.
