The Hill is a beautifully restored country house set in its own grounds and on the edge of the spectacular Brecon Beacons National Park and overlooking the Blorenge Mountain. We are easily accessible by road or rail - just 30 minutes from the M4 and M50!

Set in five acres of countryside and overlooking the town of Abergavenny and the Blorenge Mountain, The Hill is a delightful place to stay. We have retained many of the Hill's original features and the historic charm of the house has been retained.

Accommodation ...

As a visitor to The Hill you will enjoy a high standard of accommodation and service. Visit Wales has awarded our accommodation a 3-star rating and a Silver Accommodation Award. We have 48 bedrooms comprising 31 single, 12 double and 5 twin.

All our standard bedrooms are en-suite with either bath/shower or shower and are equipped with TVs, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and telephone.
Three of our rooms have facilities for guests with disabilities - please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Many rooms have spectacular views of our grounds and towards the Blorenge Mountain.

Up the historic staircase you will find our new John Wedgwood Suite*. This executive double bedroom has recently been redecorated and refurnished to the highest standards.

The Hill, 9K

There is a large, walk-in, dressing room with full-length mirror and ample hanging space leading from it. The large en-suite bathroom contains a luxury shower/bath and is decorated with beautiful Turkish stone tiles. From the bedroom window there are wonderful views of the grounds and surrounding hills.

The Hill also offers 3-bedroom, self-catering holiday accommodation at our fully modernised and self-contained Lodge.

Dining...

The Hill are experienced organisers of private events such as lunches, dinners and licensed for weddings. Whatever your celebration (birthday, anniversary, etc.) we promise to exceed your expectations with good quality food, sourced locally wherever possible, coupled with fine surroundings and a relaxing ambience.

Small gatherings can dine either in Gwendoline Lewis (max. 15), Lady Llanover (max. 15) or Pritchard Martin (max. 20). Whilst larger gatherings can dine in either Strand Jones (max. 25) or Jasper Tudor (max. 60). You can see photos of our conference/function rooms on our conference pages (click here).

We will be pleased to prepare a menu especially for your event. All dietary requirements are catered for. We have a varied wine menu including Welsh, Italian, Australian, French and Spanish wines. Additionally we offer champagne.

A special day requires a special place - we understand that well. The Hill, an impressive country house situated in its own picturesque grounds, is now licensed to hold wedding ceremonies and receptions. This unique location is perfect for those civil partnerships looking for a venue for up to 50 guests.
