Welcome to a country inn with traditional values
The down inn has been our home for over 4 years. Following the addition of our accommodation suite and extensive refurbishment throughout, we are pleased to welcome back old faces, and introduce some new faces to the pleasures and traditional hospitality that we offer.
Set in the rolling Shropshire Hills just 3 miles from the historic town of Bridgnorth, The Down Inn is a family owned pub serving great traditional pub food including our daily specials, our renowned carvery and country pub menu (excluding Sundays) 7 days a week, lunchtime and evenings. It's an absolute must for carvery lovers, our customers flock from miles around to sample the excellent food prepared by our team. It is the perfect establishment to compliment your day out, or evening at a time to suit you.
We offer value for money in a relaxing atmosphere with open log fires in the winter and stunning views all year round, while seated in the bay windows or cosy bar or perhaps settle for the rear restaurant. We pride ourselves on our four traditional local cask ales and affordable wine list.

The Food
Our sourcing of local meats and vegetables from the wide range of quality suppliers in the area means we can also be proud to be one of the busiest carvery pubs around. Offering traditional hospitality, relaxing surroundings and stunning views of unrivalled Shropshire.
The public bar offers a wide choice of real ales from nearby Bishops Castle as well as other local and regions brews, whilst enjoying the views, and in the winter, warm open fires.
Famous for our acclaimed carvery, which operates every lunch time 12noon - 2.30pm and every evening 6.00pm - 9.00pm Monday to Saturday and 12noon - 8.30pm on Sundays, accompanied by our great country pub menu (excluding Sundays).

Our new 9 bed accommodation suite offers the most up to date accommodation in the area - with all mod cons, our large rooms offer comfort, relaxation and of course - our views.
Whether you are mid-journey for work or pleasure, or basing yourself with us whilst exploring the stunning Shropshire Country-side, or even if you just can't be bothered to drive home, as you would prefer to enjoy our full hospitality and hearty cooked Shropshire breakfast - We can assure you a comfortable night.

Function Room
Also recently refurbished, our large function room with private bar and dance floor, catering for all occasions seating up to 100 people. Why not spend your wedding, birthday, presentation evening or one of the already legendary Christmas parties with us at The Down Inn. We also cater for coach parties and large groups.
Stunning Shropshire views compliment any visit to The Down Inn. Sit in the garden and enjoy a pint, or a glass of wine from our extensive wine lists, or how about walking off your meal along one of the public footpaths that surround The Down Inn.
