Wetherby is a vibrant, floral market town. Centrally located between York, Harrogate and Leeds it is the ideal place to stay for a short break or when on business. The A1 passes alongside Wetherby (the Guest House is on the original Roman Road before Wetherby was by-passed) and the town is 198 miles equidistant to both London and Edinburgh.
The town is recognised nationally and in Europe as a key competitor in the 'In Bloom' awards. The 'Wetherby in Bloom' team carry out splendid work making the town look hugely inviting no matter the season. The awards list is impressive having won the best Town category of Britain in Bloom in 1998, silver gilt in 2002 then the highly respected European Entente Florale Gold award in 1999 and the small town category winner of the Communities in Bloom International Challenge in 2005.
Wetherby is set on the banks of the River Wharfe, an area of beauty enhanced by its good accessibility and common areas maintained by the town.
Thankfully escaping the homogeneous British high street, its independent and unique shops and restaurants are flourishing. Clothing shops, restaurants, English pubs, independent bars, and coffee houses are all present in the town.
