| Ightham is one of the many delightful wealden villages in 'The Garden of England'. Nestled in the foothills of the North Downs, the village Square with its mediaeval half-timbered houses, historic pubs and ancient fourteenth century church still reflects life as it was in rural England a century ago. Typically Kentish apple and cherry orchards, cobnut plantations, hop gardens and rolling valleys surround this once largely agricultural village. From Spring bluebells and fruit blossom, to Autumn tints and snowy Downland fields, the countryside around Ightham is picturesque and quintessentially English. |

| Yet Ightham is certainly not isolated. The village stands at a useful crossroads being midway between Sevenoaks with its easy train links to London, and the county town of Maidstone. Tonbridge and its Norman mote and bailey castle and public school is approximately 10 minutes away. Tunbridge Wells, the historic spa town is only 25 minutes by car. Equally convenient for international transport links, Ightham is within easy reach of Gatwick, the Channel tunnel and all Channel crossings. Overlooking the church and Ightham village, Double Dance nestles in peaceful paddocks and gardens. Like the village, Double Dance is steeped in history. The name 'Double Dance' is reputed to have originated from ritual dancing on one of the paddocks. The house itself was converted from a former stable and is typically Kentish in style with dormer windows set in decorative tiles. The garden includes an old cherry orchard, which is awash with Spring daffodils. |
