Previously awarded the Southwest Tourist Board GOLD STANDARD for highest rating, Trish and Peter, the new owners, aim to maintain that high standard. St Michael's Hotel is proud of its central location, splendid sea views, and large, bright, well-appointed rooms. St. Michael's is a fine detached house within its own walled grounds on a quiet residential terrace just above Torquay.  We are 5 minutes walk to Torquay town centre and 10 minutes walk through town to the beach and seafront.St. Michael's features a delightful open-air sun terrace; an extensive back garden for sunbathing or quiet contemplation and the large bay windows offer panoramic vistas of Torbay. We serve up a traditional full English and continental breakfast every morning and evening meals are available on request.  There is secure car parking in the hotel grounds as well as opposite St Michael's at the Ash Hill Inn, which also serves up a carvery every day. Relax on our sun terrace overlooking the bay and savour the salty sea air and mild coastal breezes. Most of all enjoy our home-cooked food and warm hospitality. St. Michael's awaits to welcome you and make your holiday or business visits a memorable one. We are also pursuing a licence for alcohol so that you may enjoy a relaxing drink with your meal. |
| About St Michael's St. Michael's is a 125-year old Victorian house charmingly enclosed within its original stone wallswith a large, peaceful, and secluded garden. With sea views all along the south side of the hotel we are only a short walk from the town and seaside; there is no need to take your car. Additionally, there is a good shuttle bus service in Torquay to take you everywhere in Torbay.
We have a fine dining room, a spacious guest lounge with Sky satellite TV, a sun terrace overlooking the sea and an enchanting walled garden with path and lawn benches. We are open all year round and have out-of-season offers with promotional weekend breaks throughout the year as well as Turkey & Tinsel and Christmas bookings. We are also popular with commercial firms requiring rooms for employees working temporarily in locations in and around Torbay.  Broadband internet and fax facilities are available to guests. We are 5 minutes drive and 10 minutes walk to the Riviera International Conference Centre (www.rivieracentre.co.uk), a popular business conference venue.  There is some secure car parking in our grounds and the neighboring Ash Hill Inn. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all areas, but guests are welcome to smoke on the terrace. | Accommodation Our bedrooms are all en-suite, completely refurbished and tastefully decorated to a high standard. All rooms include coffee and tea-making facilities, central heating, television, heated towel rails and a hairdryer. An iron and ironing board are available on request. Pay telephone, broadband internet and fax facilities are also available.
Guest rooms are strictly non-smoking, but smoking is permitted on the terrace. We thank you for your consideration. |
| Bed & Breakfast Tariff We have double, twin, and single rooms, as well as a family room and a bunk bed twin room (please see the Guest Rooms link for room photos). St. Michael's is open all year round, with promotional weekend breaks throughout the seasons, as well as Turkey & Tinsel and Christmas bookings. 5th January - 13th April - £26 per person per night 14th April - 20th July - £30 per person per night 21st July - 30th September - £32 per person per night 1st October - 31st October - £30 per person per night 1st November - 23rd December - £26 per person per night 24th December - 30th December - £35 per person per night CHRISTMAS BREAKS - please contact us for further information Children's Rates 0 -3 Years - Free of Charge 4 - 12 Years - Half price Over 12 years - Adult price Supplements There is a small supplement of £5.00 per person for single-night bookings in order to cover the costs of bedding and labour. A double room can be provided to single occupants for an additional £10 per night. A three course evening meal can be provided at a cost of £14.00. We source all our ingredients locally and will require a little notice. Booking A 50% deposit is required in order to confirm your reservation and can be made by credit or debit card over the telephone. Alternatively, payment can be made by cheque, please allow at least seven days for payment to clear. Please make cheques payable to St Michael's Hotel and include your name and arrival date. Cancellations Please advise us of any cancellations at least seven days prior to your arrival date. Your deposit may not be refunded after this time. |
