| Local attractions nearby include 9-hole golf course on the seafront, which is within walking distance of the hotel. Narrow Gauge Railway with special discount fares for Springfield residents, pony trekking, fishing, golf, and hill walking. Fairbourne is ideally situated if you wish to explore the Mid Wales coast being central to the resorts of Barmouth, Tywyn, Aberdovey and Dolgellau. Within easy reach are the popular towns of Harlech, Portmadoc, Portmeirion (the famous Itallianette Village that was the setting for the TV programme "The Prisoner") and the market town of Machynlleth. Entertainments is a specialty of the Hotel with lots to do for everyone., Regular quiz night are held in the function room and the bars host regular pool, darts and dominoes competitions. Karaoke nights are held twice a week and live music is a big feature of the hotel's entertainment programme. Sixties weekends, with some of the top names from the Golden Decade appearing, are held regularly. Some of the stars that have appeared include: Hermans Hermits, Con and Dec the original bachelors, Mike Penders Searchers, Love Affair, The Cuff Links, The American Four Tops with Will Hicks, Dave Berry and the Cruisers and Brian Poole. Booked to appear in 2006 are Ricky Valance of 'Tell Laura I Love Her' fame, The Cufflinks who sold a million copies of their UK Number 1 Hit 'Tracy' and Marvin Ruffin from the legendary Ruffin 'Motown' Family.
