Hereford City is only 9 miles away with its spectacular Cathedral, home to the ancient Mappi Mundi & chained library exhibitions. Hereford boasts many museums among them The Old House on High Town, the Waterworks Museum & the Cider Museum. There are many fine places to eat catering for every taste or you could picnic on the banks of the river. For entertainment there is the Courtyard, Herefords centre for the arts, TGS bowling, the Leisure pool and lots more besides, in fact something to cater for every taste. Each May Hereford holds a street fair in the High Town & every 3rd year is host to the Three Choirs Festival.
Hay-on-Wye (13 miles) sits on the border of England & Wales in the foothills of the Black Mountains & is close to the Brecon Beacons National Park. It has an abundance of bookshops, galleries, antique shops, restaurants & gift shops. Early summer finds Hay full to capacity as it hosts the annual Hay Festival. From here it is possible to link up to the Offas Dyke Footpath & the Wye Valley Walk.
