 | Walking Holiday Accommodation on the Roman Wall National Trail
Saughy Rigg Farm is an ideal base for a walking holiday on Hadrian`s Wall National Trail.
At Saughy Rigg you will enjoy extras not usually available at most B&B's such as a restaurant with full a la carte menu using fresh seasonal local produce, a bar with draught and local ales, and an excellent wine list.
You can benefit from lifts to and from the trail and local transport points, a drying room heated 24/7, laundry facilities, a warm welcome with a cup of tea or coffee and a home made cake or biscuits on arrival.
Magnificently situated about half a mile north of Hadrian's Wall within Northumberland's beautiful National Park, the wall can be seen from the farm.

Eating at Saughy Rigg
Guests can now choose from a full a-la-carte menu which changes to reflect the best of our local seasonal produce. All carefully prepared and beautifully presented by our talented chef Sian.
Sian will also be offering daily specials and there are prices to suit all budgets.
Before eating you can relax in our bar stocked with draught beer and lager and local ales as well as a very good wine list.
If you want an informal dining experience we will be offering bar meals and lighter options.
All our food is freshly cooked using fresh ingredients (organic where possible) as we know how important it is to have fresh nutritious food when walking or cycling. Packed lunches are also available - please ask. Special diets are no problem but please inform us when booking if you have allergies.

All our rooms are en-suite with showers. All have been tastefully decorated to reflect the character of our farm which dates from 1760. All the rooms are comfortably furnished, with quality beds.
Our hospitality trays are stocked with Fair Trade tea and coffee and our bathrooms are stocked with hand made local toiletries.
Guests can choose from twin, double, single or family rooms. In addition there is a comfortable and cosy lounge with TV, DVD, and a selection of books.
Our dining room is a pleasant South facing room with views up to Hadrian's Wall where breakfast and dinner are served.

| New for 2009 we are offering the option of catered camping in a quiet private garden next to the main house.
You will have:
- A 4 metre tent set up ready for occupation;
- Each tent is heated by a wood burning stove with locally sourced fuel supplied;
- A double bed and up to 3 singles made up ready with all linen and towels provided;
- Full breakfast of locally sourced (organic where possible) produce to be taken in the farmhouse restaurant;
- A shower room with WC and wash basin for exclusive use of campers;
- use of our bar and restaurant for evening meals and drinks;
- lifts to and from public transport points if required;
- a dedicated drying room heated 24/7 and laundry facilities;
Prices from £15 per person per night (£25 for single occupancy) including breakfast (min 3 nights weekend 4 nights mid week). |
