John and Maureen Sandilands extend a warm welcome to you at Sandilands House, a distinctive and charming bungalow of great character built in 1930 to high specifications. Enjoy an excellent Scottish Service and accommodation in our quality guesthouse. We can offer bed and breakfast with comfort and excellent facilities. Our central location with private parking is an ideal base for visitors to explore the city of Edinburgh and also for our business guests attending conferences around the city. Italian, Spanish and Portuguese spoken. All guest rooms are en-suite with furnishing and decoration a reflection of the Scottish tourist boards 3 star award for excellence. The entrance porch, inner hall dining room are wood panelled with period reproduction furnishing and original oak flooring. Full Scottish breakfast with vegetarian choice is served at individual room tables set with Royal Doulton bone china and silver plated cutlery. Sandilands House is central to the city being under a mile from the west end of Princes Street and all city attractions and serviced with all day bus services. Murrayfield Rugby Stadium, Royal Botanical Gardens and the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art are a short walk away Drive to Edinburgh Airport in 20 minutes and The Royal Yacht Britannia in the port of Leith with many sea food restaurants in 15 minutes.

Booking Terms Room bookings can be made in advance by telephone, fax, email or by filling in our enquiry form and sending it to us. Booking confirmation and room reservation is given following receipt of a deposit equal in value to the cost of one nights stay or by supplying debit/credit card details. Confirmed bookings can be cancelled without charge providing notice of no less than 7 days is given. Find Us By Road - We are on the main A90 road from Edinburgh to the North and West via Edinburgh Airport The road is called Queensferry Road and Sandilands House is at the city end between Orchard Road South and Queensferry Terrace, just a mile from the West End of Princess St. Guests arriving from the North or the West should note that Queensferry Road changes it's name to Hillhouse Road for a short half mile section. Ignore this road name change and carry on for a further half mile to Sandilands House on the right hand side. Guests arriving from the South via the city bypass should also take note of this road name change. See the multi-map for further details. By Rail - Both rail stations, Waverly and Haymarket are only a short distance away. From Waverly station take the number 43 bus or walk to Hannover Street for a 41 and 43 bus to the stop after Stewart Melville College, we are on the left hand side. By Air - Edinburgh Airport is 20 minutes by road to Sandilands House or a £14 taxi fare. Take the A8 to the city. At the Gyle roundabout continue straight to the traffic lights at the Maybury junction. Turn left at the Maybury Roundabout, observe the Casino on your left as you join the Maybury Road A902. Go straight on to the next junction, Barnton Roundabout, and turn right on to Queensferry Road. After two miles Sandilands House is on your right. Remember to ignore the Road name changes en-route, eg Hillhouse Road. |
