| NO SMOKING OR PETS Bed and Breakfast with a difference ![]() Guests have the freedom and exclusive occupation of a warm and comfortable cottage. Two overlook the picturesque village green in the conservation village of golden stone. One has a double and a single bedroom and one a double bedroom. The other a bungalow, with a double and a twin bedroom, has a superb view of half an acre of garden. All have a bath and a shower. A lounge with colour TV. A kitchen with an electric kettle, a microwave and a fridge. The price based on two sharing double bed accommodation is from £60 per night. Single occupation of any of the properties is £45 per night. We do not accept credit cards. It is inclusive of an English style breakfast, served in our own 17th century dining room which was the village bakehouse. There is off street parking. There are two pubs for lunch or dinner within walking distance. We are keen gardeners and interested in family history. John and our family are Church Bellringers. This is an excellent area for walking, cycling, fishing, sailing, golf and sight-seeing too. Castles at Belvior, Rockingham and Grimsthorpe. Stately homes at Burghley, Stamford and Belton near Grantham. Man made reservoirs when naturalized can be as beautiful as any lake and Rutland Water is particularly fine. Close by are Barnsdale Gardens home of the late Geoff. Hamilton of BBC fame. ![]() Braunston is 2 miles S.W. of Oakham. In the village turn right - road to Leicester. Near the village green into Cedar St. We are round the corner on the right. From the A1. Stamford by-pass A606 to Oakham. At the roundabout at Oakham by-pass, continue straight on to the T junction in Oakham turn right. Continue to the main railway crossing, turn left and then soon second left for Braunston. From Leicester A47. Turn left, about a mile on from Houghton on the Hill, for Tilton. In Tilton village turn right, go by the church and Braunston is 6 miles. ![]() Visitors comments - May 06 Sets a standard that other B and Bs can only aim at. Excellent in every way.
