| Built in 1605, The Bull Hotel as it was originally named boasts many fine original features including the Grand Staircase, The Ballroom with its original Minstrels Gallery and many fine Fireplaces. Origianally a Coaching Inn it would provide refreshments and board to travellers on the London to Dover Rd, Charles Dickens who lived locally at the time frequented the Hotel on many occassions and we are honoured to be mentioned on several occassions in his books The Pickwick Papers and Great Expectations. The Hotel changed its name to its new form after the then Princess Victoria stayed in the Hotel on the 29th November 1836, permission was later granted for us to add 'Royal Victoria' to our title. In keeping with this our honeymoon suite which is believed to be the room the Princess stayed in is known as The Queen Victoria Suite in her honour. We offer a further 27 rooms all with modern facilites such as Telephone, Colour TV, Hairdryer, Trouser Press and Tea & Coffee Facilities. Most are En-suite. We also have facilities to hold conferences and banqueting in our Grand Ballroom and Medway Room with a capacity for up to 65 sitdown for a Wedding Breakfast or Dinner and 100 Theatre style for a conference or meeting. Our highly skilled conference & banqueting team will ensure all of your requirements are met and that your special event runs smoothly. The Hotel also has a fine Restaurant (currently under refurbishment) and a bar area with nightly events and pool tables, we can also provide special offers for The Casino Rooms and The Amedaus Nightclubs for those wishing to party the night away. |
