The Riverside Hotel is situated by the ancient, fortified bridge over the River Monnow, in the historic town of Monmouth.

The hotel was originally a 19th Century coachining inn, but the facilities are as you would expect from a modern 2 star hotel.

We focus on making your stay as comfortable as possible, allowing you to enjoy the outstanding beauty of the Wye Valley.

If you are looking to move further down the Wye Valley, our sister hotel, The Beaufort Hotel, is located in the town centre of Chepstow. Like The Riverside, it was originally a coaching inn and offers the same strong values, providing good service to our guests.

About Us...

The Riverside Hotel is a family run business and we pride ourselves on providing efficient, friendly service and good value for our guests.

We have 17 en-suite bedrooms, an excellent restaurant and the Agincourt Suite : our banqueting room which offers facilities for weddings, conferences or parties.

We are fully accredited by Taste of Wales, AA, RAC and Welsh Tourist Board and our facilities are of the best quality that you would expect from a two star hotel.

Business Travel...

Located just a minute from the main artery of the A40, The Riverside Hotel is in the perfect position for business travellers on their way to the Midlands and the North, or South Wales and the South West.

All of our 17 en suite bedrooms have colour TVs, telephones and tea and coffee making facilities.

The hotel is centrally located and has a large private car park making it perfect for meetings and conferences of all sizes.

We offer two function rooms, the larger Agincourt Suite which can cater for up to 80 theatre style or the Conservatory which is ideal for smaller meetings and seminars, comfortably holding 35 around a large table.

Combine these features with the relaxing atmosphere, popular bar with pool table and excellent food, it's no wonder we have so many business people staying with us, many of them regulars.

The Agincourt Suite is a totally self-contained suite, with private bar. The room offers seating capacity for up to 80 people in a theatre style gathering.

We use only the finest produce, prepared freshly every day.

Blades Restaurant

Blades Restaurant offers guests a modern a la carte menu featuring traditional British and international dishes to suit all palates.

We buy most of our meat directly from local farmers and use Wye Valley and Welsh produce if possible.

If you are looking for a more casual meal then we serve a wide selection of bar meals including sandwiches and baguettes, pasta dishes, and jacket potatoes in the bar.

How To Find Us...

Directions:
Monmouth is well located on the A40. To get to the hotel you should exit the A40 at the Trellech and Rockfield junction.

If you are approaching from the north, you will drive past Monmouth before reaching the Trellech and Rockfield junction, which is immediately before a tunnel on the A40. Drive to the end of the sliproad and take a right, follow this road down the hill to the mini roundabout, turn left and follow the road through the traffic lights; the Riverside Hotel is almost immediately on your left.

If you are approaching from the south, you will go through a tunnel and come off immediately afterwards at the Trellech and Rockfield junction. Follow the sliproad to a mini roundabout, go straight ahead and through the traffic lights; the Riverside Hotel is almost immediately on your left.
