Welcome

Riverbank House, a family-owned Matlock guest house, providing bed and breakfast accommodation, nestles on the banks of the River Derwent and within the conservation area of the bridge. We are the only Matlock B&B to have a river frontage and our own parking within a quiet cul de sac. Our centrally-located guesthouse in Matlock is close to the bus and train station, and pubs and restaurants. We are a short drive from Bakewell, Chatsworth House & Haddon Hall. The Heights of Abraham & Gulliver's Kingdom is 1 mile away.

Our Matlock accommodation provides the choice of twelve comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms, each with its own special character. All have en-suite facilities, all with showers and one with a bath and shower. Each room is equipped with colour TV and all you need to make a nice cup of tea or coffee.

Our Matlock guesthouse has eight double bedrooms, one twin room and three family rooms (the latter including a double bed & single bed) with the option of an additional cot or folding bed for the larger family. It is our policy to always try to make our guests as comfortable as possible.

Hall Leys Park is on the opposite bank from the guesthouse and is a beautifully maintained area in which to stroll, listen to the brass band and have a light lunch at the Park Café. Children can enjoy the freedom to run, paddle, go on the miniature railway play put-put or make new friends at the play area with swings, slides etc.

Within walking distance of Riverbank House are several fine restaurants and pubs in the town centre. You will not lack good places to eat. The bus and railway station are only five minutes walk from us and we regularly welcome visitors using these excellent facilities.

Our Matlock bed and breakfast accommodation is ideally placed for walkers, cyclists and potholers. Whether you're athletic or not, we'll set you up for the day with our hearty breakfasts, using local produce, be it full English or continental. All tastes can be catered for including vegetarian, celiac, vegan, just ask, and we'll oblige...we'll even go fishing for kippers...

Built in the 1860's, this Matlock b and b is a spacious Victorian house of character. A large garden on the river is available for guests to relax in (weather permitting) and we are happy to provide seating and even the odd hammock for you to while away those sunny hours. If you are a fisher-man, or -woman, then we are the only guest house with our own rights to fish, for trout, grayling or chubb.

Make enquiries for discounts for midweek and long breaks.
