Location & History
Red Hart Cottage is located in Llanbedr village, near St Peters Church, approximately 2 miles from the historic market town of Crickhowell, and is surrounded by the magnificent scenery of the Black Mountains.
The cottage is listed (Grade II), dating back to the 17th Century, and has gone through a number of evolutions during its c.400 year history. The original building comprised a 2 roomed (1 up, 1 down) cottage and barn.
Later, in the 18th Century a large extension was added, and this became the Red Hart Pub. The old cottage and barn were converted to a brewhouse, where the beer was made for the sale behind the bar. The pub closed in the 1920's and became a private house.
We added an extension in 2006, in which the B&B accommodation is located. The self catering accommodation is located in the cottage and former barn. |
