The Red Lion offers a lunch menu featuring a range of snacks such as baguettes, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and other traditional pub food, while in the evening the cuisine is run off a specials' board which includes fresh fish, steaks, chilli, curries and a variety of other dishes. Special diets are also catered for as well as having a children's menu. |

The Red Lion offers first class bed and breakfast accommodation with four guest rooms including one twin, two double and family room, all have proved to be very popular.

The surrounding countryside is of breathtaking beauty and has many walks and sites of historical interest, the most famous being that of Stonehenge.
The nearby former market town Warminster dates from Saxon times and boasts many historic attractions of its own. The downs around Warminster were occupied by Iron Age people who left the remains of earthworks, hill forts and barrow mounds, behind them. Close by is Battlesbury Camp, one of the major Iron Age hill forts in Britain. During the Civil War (1642-1645) Warminster was thought to have changed hands at least four times between the Royalists (Cavaliers) and the Parliamentarians (Roundheads).
It lies midway between the beautiful cities of Bath and the famous roman baths and Salisbury with its beautiful Cathedral and 40ft spire, designed by Christopher Wren, the tallest in England. The Cathedral also has a library that holds one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta.
Longleat House, the home of Lord Bath with its famous Lions and Wildlife Park is nearby.
There are also the historic attractions of Wilton House, Lacock village, Shaftesbury and the landscaped gardens of Stourhead. |

The village of Heytesbury lies just off the main A36 trunk road that links Salisbury and Bath.
Warminster town itself has a main line station with trains that run at regular intervals to London Waterloo, Cardiff, Bristol, Salisbury and Bath. The town is also serviced by National coaches, First Direct and Wilts & Dorset buses. |
