Taking you to a bygone era this family run three-star hotel provides a unique combination of homely comfort and exceptional service.
Built in 1879 Pontlands Park features Victorian period architecture in which guests can enjoy an ambience of relaxed splendour. The house has been sympathetically extended and today has 35 luxurious bedrooms, a fine restaurant, comprehensive conference facilities and is the perfect venue for weddings and parties, whatever the occasion. Guests can also enjoy the facilities at our neighbouring Spa with its indoor and outdoor pools, sauna and café.
Set in the Essex countryside to the east of Chelmsford, Pontlands Park is conveniently located and only 15 minutes drive from the M25 and 30 minutes from Stansted Airport. Chelmsford train station is close by and is only 35 minutes from London Liverpool Street.

Bedrooms
Pontlands Park has 35 individual, luxurious, traditionally decorated bedrooms, complete with all of the facilities you would expect from a three star hotel plus a little more, all designed to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The bedrooms are divided into four categories from executive double or twin up to traditional suites.

Our Restaurant
Pontlands Park offers modern European cuisine freshly prepared by our own chefs and served in Disraeli and Gladstone, our Victorian dining rooms. Our menu offers an array of interesting, mouth-watering dishes using the finest locally sourced ingredients. A sample menu can be viewed below.
In our beautiful conservatory, designed to complement the Victorian house and garden you can enjoy our Sunday Carvery, perfect for all of the family with various activities for children

Weddings
The impressive Victorian house and beautifully landscaped gardens and pond make Pontlands Park the ideal setting for you to celebrate your love and commitment.
The variety of function rooms available means we have something for everyone.
The Gladstone is perfect for an intimate wedding breakfast for up to 36 guests and for larger parties our fully air conditioned conservatory can seat a maximum of 90 guests. During the summer months (May - September) our stunning marquee is in situ for between 70 and 180 seated guests (dependant on day of the week).
For those wishing to continue the party in the evening both the conservatory and marquee have their own bar and dancefloor, with maximum capacities increasing to 120 guests in the conservatory and 250 guests in the marquee.Following the change in the law it is now possible to extend our licensing hours to suit your requirements, there is a charge and specific conditions do apply.
A wide choice of flexible sit down menus and drinks packages are available as well as a choice of evening buffets.

Ceremonies
Pontlands park is licensed for civil ceremonies, this includes weddings, civil partnerships, commitment ceremonies, naming ceremonies and renewal of vows.
Ceremonies take place in our beautiful Lilli Room for up to 120 guests standing or 40 guests seated. The room has direct access to our beautiful gardens with pond, perfect for photographs and drinks after the ceremony.
Ceremonies must be performed by the Superintendent Registrar and all content must be secular. You must book the registrar direct at the Superintendent Registrar Office, on 01245 430130.
Conferences
Pontlands Park offers modern conference facilities in a beautiful Victorian setting.
Conveniently located 2 minutes from the A12 west of Chelmsford it is easily accessible for local and national visitors with ample free car parking. Free wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel and we have a range of equipment available for hire including LCD projectors.
We offer 24 hour and day delegate rates or if you'd prefer we can tailor a package to suit your requirements.
Choose from one of our six elegant conference rooms:
The Conservatory is the largest of our conference rooms and is fully air conditioned with lots of natural daylight. It can accommodate up to 100 delegates theatre style or 40 delegates boardroom.
The Lilli is suitable for up to 24 delegates in a u-shape or 22 delegates cabaret style and has doors opening into our well maintained gardens.
The newly completed Churchill also looks out over the gardens and can comfortable seat 45 delegates theatre style or 20 delegates boardroom.
The Baddow Bar has natural daylight and space for up to 30 delegates theatre style or 16 delegates in a u shape.
The Victoria and Albert can be booked individually and are perfect for smaller meetings or syndicate rooms. It is also possible to combine them for up to 16 delegates cabaret style.

Events
Throughout the year at Pontlands Park we invite you to join us at one of our exciting events.
A family lunch on Fathers Day from our Sunday Carvery or dinner and dancing in the marquee to a Robbie Williams or Abba tribute act, we really do have something for everyone.
In September we hold our annual charity ball in aid of the Essex Community Foundation to raise money for children in Chelmsford and the surrounding areas, in 2006 we raised just over £27,000, thank you to all those who donated.

Christmas at Pontlands Park is a very special time. Beautiful traditionally decorated trees and open fires give a homely feel.
