| The two bars and dining room, with their wealth of beams and open fires, feature many old farm implements, pictures of the valley as it used to be, with its many characters together with antique copper and brass ware. The dining room is furnished in mellow pine, giving a wonderful feeling of warmth. For the comfort of all our customers, the dining room and bedrooms are non-smoking areas. | ![]() |
![]() | Traditional food is prepared by the hosts and their friendly staff. In particular, The Pheasant Inn has an excellent reputation for its deliciously cooked vegetables. Bar meals are available at lunchtime and evenings, and the restaurant is open at night. On Sundays, a traditional roast lunch is always served. All this adds up to an enjoyable stay at The Pheasant. |
| Cragside House, at Rothbury is steeped in history and has lovely gardens which are renowned for their spring-time displays of azaleas and rhododendrons. Wallington Hall at Cambo is another fine house, very popular with tourists. Just a few miles north, you enter the Scottish border region, which has many Castles and Stately Homes, all open to the public in the summer season. The historic towns of Melrose, Kelso, Jedburgh and Peebles are all worth a visit. | ![]() |
