| Peperstiche is situated in the delightful village of Crondall on the Surrey, Hampshire borders. The house, with gardens of 1.5 acres, overlooks open farmland and is within 5 minutes walk of the village centre. Junction 5 on the M3 is a ten minute drive. ![]() Malcolm and Jenny offer you a friendly welcome and will serve you a memorable breakfast. All rooms are provided with tea and coffee making facilities and satellite T.V. Wireless broadband available. Guests have the choice of full English or continental breakfast and in addition smoked haddock, kippers and kedgeree is available. Special diets are catered for and children over 6 years are welcome. There is a very adequate area for parking. The whole house, including bedrooms, is non smoking. |
| Very interestingfootpath walks surround the village. It also possesses a beautiful Norman churchand is fortunate to have exceptional pubs. The Hampshire Arms and the Plume of Feathers both have a great reputation for food. Oliver Cromwell was reputed to have stayed the night at the 'Plume' on Wednesday 8th October 1645 when returning from Winchester to London, (we were full that night!) The present church, which has been called "The Cathedral of North Hampshire", was built in the second half of the 12 Centuryand replaces a Saxon church that had stood on the same site since the days of King Alfred. The Saxon font still remains. The church is well worth a visit and is included in Simon Jenkins book 'England's Thousand Best Churches'. |
| For visiting golfers the village provides Oak Park Golf Club with 27 holes and a practice range. The clubhouse has every possible requirement with a pro shop, restaurant, bars and excellent gymnasium facilities. There is also a nine hole golf centre and driving range at the nearby Bowenhurst golf course. ~ ~ Crondall is within a 10 minute drive from Fleet and Farnham where regular rail services are available to London (Waterloo) taking about an hour. ~ ~ Farnham is a delightful town to visit. Take a walk northward along Castle Street with its eye catching breadth. Farnham Castle is situated at the north end. This was formally the Palace of the Bishops of Winchester and Guildford; it is now home to the Centre of International Briefing. It is open for guided tours only - Wednesdays 2-4 p.m. The historic towns of Winchester and Guildford can be reached by car in 40 and 30 minutes respectively. ~ ~ The south coast including Portsmouth, for ferries to France, is a comfortable 45 minutes away. |
