| The House Penrose is an elegant pre-1930s detached house standing in its own grounds. The house was recently completely refurbished. Yet, whilst introducing state of the art facilities we have ensured that the rooms have retained the grace, light and spacious dimensions of that bygone era. ![]() The Gardens Mature trees offer guests privacy for lounging outdoors with a cool drink - in the summer months. Or, for breakfasting on the sunny patio, when the weather permits. | Breakfast Breakfast is served in the morning room on our large oak table which is always beautifully laid with a crisp linen table cloth, fresh flowers, gleaming glasses, cutlery and china. Double patio windows offer views over the garden. If you can take your attention off the delicious food which we serve you can look out for the squirrels and a host of different kinds birds - which are a common site. There is also a view to our open plan ultra modern kitchen where you can watch your traditional British Breakfast cooked fresh before you. Alfresco Buffet breakfast From 5.30 am to 10 am you may help yourself to a selection form our substantial buffet breakfast. There is always a choice of fresh chilled fruit juice, at least ten different types of cereals, fresh bread(s) of your choice, all the fresh seasonal fruits, an assortment of jams, marmalades. Ham and cheese, if requested. And, of course, we offer a wide choice of both tea and coffee. Traditional English Breakfast From 8am to 9.30am you may order one of our famous traditional four course, cooked English breakfasts - which is guaranteed to reach your table 'piping hot' within 15 seconds of leaving the griddle - accompanied by a continuous supply of fresh hot toast, as required.Vegetarian and special diets We ask for advance notice of any special requirements which we endeavour to provide. |

And restaurants - with vastly differing price ranges - specialising variously in traditional English, French, Italian, Indian or Chinese food. | OUT AND ABOUT Shopping Whether your interest is; fashion, sports gear, book shops, toys, electrical and hi-tech goods, garden centers, specialist trade shops and wholesalers, Macclesfield and surrounding districts offer a wide range of shopping facilities with prices ranging from the £mega expensive to £amazingly cheap. Close-by you can find all the major High Street names, international designer shops and specialist outlets - to seconds shops, indoor andoutdoor market stalls. Exploring the countryside The Peaks and Plains afford magnificent and varied countryside to delight walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. The choices of terrain ranges from flat lands of the Cheshire plain to steep mountainous slopes of the Pennines. The variety includes lakes, streams and rivers to national parks, National Trust gardens and lands - to forests and woods, including the SSSI ancient woodlands at Alderley Edge where you may also undertake underground explorations of this unique mineralised triassic outcrop. Historic Houses, famous gardens and museums. You can visit the only remaining silk museum in the UK and watch practical demonstrations on hand looms in the nearby Victorian silk mill - remnants of Macclesfield's past. You may visit the famous Jodrell Bank radio telescope, working science museum and planetarium. Or investigate the ever expanding restoration of Style mill and parkland.If your interest is visiting stately homes and gardens then you could not have a wider choice. Cultural events The Halle orchestra and The Royal Shakespeare Company often stage productions at Macclesfield Leisure Center (less than 5 minutes walk from Penrose). Whilst various venues in the area frequently host a wide range of both amateur and professional concerts, operas, plays and musicals. Alternatively the area hosts numerous exhibitions. The range of clubs and societies is too extensive to list.Penrose always carries up-to-date details of all of the current cultural events, specialist clubs and societies. | Terms & Conditions 1. Booking - No booking is accepted until confirmed, (orally or written) by Penrose Guest House 2. Deposits - Upon confirmation of booking a deposit of £35.00 per room must be paid within five working days. 3. Cancellation Policy - If the guest should cancel a booking the deposit will be forfeited. If less than 7 days notice of cancellation is given the agreed charges will be payable in full. 4. Payment Terms - Accounts must be settled in full by departure and may be settled by cash, cheque, supported by appropriate guarantee card, visa or MasterCard, delta, solo, Amex, switch card or eurocard. 5. Credit Facilities - Accounts may be forwarded to companies only if credit facilities have been agreed on booking. Credit terms - strictly 14 days net. On failure to pay an invoice to the Guest House by the due date the management reserve the right to apply a surcharge of 2% per month. 6. Check in/out - Rooms are available for guests to check in at 2.30pm. On the day of departure guests are requested to vacate their room by 10.30 a.m. 7. Pets - No pets are allowed in the Guest House with the exception of Guide Dogs. 8. Guest Liability - The guest shall be liable to pay for any damage to the property of the Guest House which has been caused by them 9. Hotel Liability - Penrose will only be liable to the guest for injury to persons or loss or damage to property where and to the extent that it has been negligent but otherwise will be under no liability to them whatsoever. 10. General - These conditions shall apply in all respects. No other terms, counter offers or document of acceptance (written or oral) shall operate as to vary these conditions. |
