Our delightful restaurant is also open to non residents; it is tastefully decorated and furnished. Our Chef takes great pride in her food presentation and quality. The menu is extensive and we are able to cater for parties, weddings, those very special occasions and business lunches. Just a few examples of our menu. Home made Steak and Kidney Pie, Home made Beef Stroganoff, Home made Cottage Pie, Home made Chicken Curry, Home made Pasta Ham and Mushroom. All these plus many more under £10.00. The Bar area has comfortable seating with a cosy fire, or relax in our small reception area on the Chesterfield or high back leather chairs. From the bar we serve real ales, a range of lagers and of course that pint of Guinness. If a spirit is your tipple a large selection is available from the optics. For breakfast we offer a cold table of Grapefruit, Melon, Pineapple, Juices, Croissants, Cereals, Ham, Cheeses (selection may vary) and of course the good old FULL ENGLISH breakfast. | General Information |
The Paddock Hotel is in a great central position when embarking on a tour of the Peak District and countryside, where Leicestershire and Derbyshire meet The River Trent. On top of this, Melbourne itself is a wonderful Old South Derbyshire market town. Melbourne Hall which has one of the most famous gardens in the Midlands region. Calke Abbey and Staunton Harold Hall and the spectacular causeway at Stanton. The later is just a few minutes away from the hotel measuring three-quarters of a mile and is the longest medieval stone bridge in England. Derby cycle route which passes within yards of The Paddock Hotel is a particular attraction option for those of you who enjoy a cycling/pub adventure. The Hotel also makes a good base for walkers, the network of paths around Melbourne take in the reservoirs at Staunton Harold and Foremark, the Trent and Breedon-on-the-Hill. Other Nearby Attractions, Donington Exhibition Centre, the Famous Donington Sunday Market, Donington International Race Circuit, Alton Towers, Sherwood Forest, Heights of Abraham, American Theme Park.
