| Only an hour's sail from Ardrossan, Arran is described as 'Scotland in Miniture' for its magnificent varied scenery. An island that has something for everyone from its seven golf courses to its tremendous hill walking and wildlife spotting opportunities. Otterburn House is situated in Corriecravie a tranquil hamlet on the south west coast on the island with stunning views across the Kilbrannan Sound towards Kintyre and the Antrim Hills in Ireland. Set in a lovely garden with mature shrubs, trees and a colourful display of flowers - a riot of colour in the summer. There is garden furniture so that you can enjoy some alfresco dining amidst the beautiful surroundings. |
| An extremely spacious well appointed four bedroom family home with a high standard of furnishings centred around a feature hall. The large sitting room with fireplace has French doors opening through to a conservatory with casual chairs for relaxing and catching the warmth of the late afternoon/evening sun. A second sitting room/children's playroom with small billiard table, games, books, etc. The dining room also has a fireplace with antique dining table seating eight and dresser with fine tableware. A well equipped kitchen with American style fridge/freezer for easy catering. Patio doors lead through from the kitchen to another conservatory with a table seating eight, which enjoys early morning to mid afternoon sun. Downstairs there is also a utility room and cloakroom toilet. |
Upstairs two en suite bedrooms (1 with shower, 1 with bath) have zip link beds so they can be either twin or double. There is a further twin room and double room. The large bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower cubical. The best beaches on the island are only a few minutes drive from here ( 3 miles ) at Torrlinn ( Lagg ) which also has a hotel and shop/post office and Blackwaterfoot ( 4 miles ) which has a couple of hotels, shops, horse riding, swimming pool, sauna, tennis courts and a fantastic 12 hole golf course. ( Golf clubs and tennis racquets at the house! ) |
