The Old Station House bed and breakfast is located in the charming village of Rowsley, at the south eastern edge of the Peak District National Park. With three en-suite guest bedrooms and plenty of off-road parking, the house is the perfect base to explore the surrounding area, which includes both Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, both less than three miles away, as well as the towns of Bakewell and Matlock, less than five miles from Rowsley. Built in 1850, The Old Station House was designed by Sir Joseph Paxton who also designed the famous Crystal Palace for the Great Exhibition in London. The house was commissioned by the Duke of Devonshire to be the station master's house in anticipation of the arrival of the new railway station. Today, all the rooms have colour TV and DVD players as well as WiFi internet access. We look forward to welcoming you to our lovely home and helping to make your stay in the Peak District as enjoyable as possible. |
