Some History....
The Olde Bull Inn as a happy blend of old and new. In its rambling aspect, it's quaint gables and dormer windows, its picturesque courtyard and stagecoach archway, it is reminiscent of the past, but in its interior it has all the charm with the comforts of new. Much of the romance of bygone times, too is suggested by its history. Like the Maypole, most famous of the inns of Dickens, it can boast its legend of Queen Elizabeth I - a legend which narrates how the Virgin monarch slept there one night in the days when her Earl of Leicester romance was in full flower.
