| The Old Borough Arms is a centrally located four star guest house at the bottom of the famous Mermaid Street in Rye. It is from here that the cobbled streets of Rye wind their way up to the Church of St. Mary, passing by the house of Henry James the famous author on the way. Just a short walk to all of the many attractions in Rye and only two miles from the beach, The Old Borough Arms is the perfect place to stay in Rye. In former days The Old Borough Arms has played host to smugglers and sea-farers, and has welcomed a variety of guests since being built in 1720. These days we are equally welcoming, and currently offer four star accommodation with breakfast. We also have a bar for residents that has a small but good selection of organic wines, beers and local bitters. All of our nine bedrooms are en-suite with immaculate bathrooms with showers. Each room is individually decorated, has a well- stocked courtesy tray and a range of contemporary toiletries. Rooms start from £60 per night, and include a fabulous breakfast (as recommended by previous guest Raymond Blanc!) and free Wi-Fi. | About Us All nine rooms at the Old Borough Arms are en-suite, and have been recently decorated. All of the rooms are equipped with the usual facilities but most importantly of all, have clean crisp sheets and towels and new comfortable beds so a goods night rest is virtually assured. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout all of the building. A selection of drinks are available for guests staying with us from our well stocked bar in the reception area. We have bottled beer from the White Brewing Company, brewed and bottled just a few miles away, and a wine list made up of entirely organic wines from around the world. We have travel cots and highchairs that can be provided at no charge, and we can cater for most requests such as Champagne and flowers. Please note that we are a family run bed and breakfast and do not have a 24 hour reception service. Check in time is from 3pm until 8pm. Check out time is 11 am. The masionette sleeps four adults comfortably in two double bedrooms which are both on the top floor, as is the bathroom. On the first floor is the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The living room looks onto Mermaid Street, and has a small but comfortable sofa from which you can watch the flat screen TV, there is a DVD player, as well as a selection of books and games in case of wet weather! The dining room seats four people comfortably and looks onto The Mint. The kitchen is newly fitted with a modern style oven and electric hob, washer/drier, fridge freezer along with full cooking equipment, cutlery crockery and glassware. The bathroom has a bath with a mains shower attachment, WC and washbasin. There are electric heaters in all of the rooms. This maisonette has steep stairs throughout and is regrettably not suitable for disabled access. A travel cot, high chair and stairgate are available upon request. Families are always welcome.
