Our top quality 4-star Guest Accommodation (Bed and Breakfast) and our 4-star, 2 cottages for self-catering accommodation is situated in Manston, North Dorset, England, UK near Shaftesbury and Sturminster Newton in the beautiful "Blackmore Vale" farming area on the outskirts of the relaxing rural village. Jonathan and Poppy Sewell would like to invite your family and friends to stay at our home.

The charming house was build about 1900 and was originally one of the farm worker's cottages. It is said it was built at a cost of £100 which seems incredible in today's money! With extensive modifications over the years which have been done in keeping with the original house we now offer a comfortable home away from home for your holiday. No expense has been spared to make our guests as comfortable as possible with the most modern and extensive amenities and attention to detail. We hope that the usual comments of "It's nice to be back home" after your holiday will be replaced with the comment "Wish we could have stayed longer at Northwood Cottages!" You will find the beds some of the most comfortable you have ever slept in as they are the top of the range Sealy "Natural Elegance" beds.

Self Catering - Daisy

Following are details of what you can expect when staying as a self-catering Guest in Daisy cottage.

All rooms are of a very high standard & include TV, radio clock and hair dryer.
Evening meals are available with prior notice (Booked a day in advance or latest in the morning of the day required) on arrival or during your stay.
There is a laundry with washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities (small charge to cover costs)
Local produce such as jams and honey are available at cost produced from houses nearby.
We also have racks of tourist information and a tourist map centred on Northwood Cottages with 10 mile rings to show distances from the cottage to various attractions)
BBQ and patio is available.
The whole house is centrally heated (usually to about 21°C but you can change the setting)
Electric heater available.
Included are all linen, towels and toiletries.
A full English breakfast can be cooked for you at an extra charge - every day or once in a while - have a real holiday!
Cot and high chair are available (cot comes with mattress only - bring your own bedding for the cot please).
We have a broadband internet hotspot available to keep you in touch. (System requirements : Windows 98SE, Me, 2000 and XP, Pentium PC, notebook PC with WG511 54 Mbps Wireless PC card.)
There is plenty of off road parking outside/near the cottage.

The lounge is open plan with the dining area. It has a large screen TV with DVD/CD and separate Hi-Fi CD player. The two large couches are very comfortable. There is an open wood fire for the winter months.

Self Catering - Bluebell

Following are details of what you can expect when staying as a self-catering Guest in the Bluebell cottage.

All rooms have been recently renovated & include TV, radio clock, and hair dryer.
Evening meals are available with prior notice (Booked a day in advance or latest in the morning of the day required) on arrival or during your stay - these are cooked in the cottage for you.
There is a laundry available near Bluebell with washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities (small charge to cover costs)
Local produce such as jams and honey are available at cost. All produced from houses nearby.
We also have racks of tourist information and a large-scale tourist map centred on Northwood Cottages with 10 mile rings to show distances from the cottage to various attractions)

The kitchen is completely fitted out with oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There is all the crockery and cutlery you need with most commonly used kitchen utensils. Heat detector for fires - linked to smoke detectors in bedrooms.
