Northumberland Cottage is a 4-star bed and breakfast set in a small hamlet in the heart of rural Northumberland, offering high quality accommodation.
Ideally situated within 2 miles of the main A1 trunk road between the old market town of Morpeth to the south and the medieval town of Alnwick to the north, allowing easy access to all the hidden treasures that Northumberland has to offer. All rooms are en-suite, some with excellent views over open countryside. So whether you travel for business or pleasure, you will find a warm welcome awaits you at Northumberland Cottage. |
Special Accommodation requirements:
Guests with mobility problems, sight or hearing difficulties can be assured that we shall endeavour to accommodate your needs as required
- Ground floor rooms with en-suite facilities toilet hand basin and shower are available.
- The hallway is carpeted through out and there is a 2-inch thresh at the front door.
- The breakfast area is in my conservatory with tiled flooring and chairs which can be moved out to accommodate a wheel chair.
- For partially sighted guest we can talk through the breakfast menu with them.
- The Garden area is accessed through the conservatory with a 4 inch drop step down to a decked area which guests may use for their own pleasure.
The garden is set with mainly mature perennials a lawned area and bistro type sitting area under the pergola (steps down to). The house is fully fitted with emergency lighting and smoke alarms. - There is ample off road parking on a level gravelled driveway leading to a paved porchway to the front door.

Northumberland Cottage makes an ideal base from which to visit the many attractions of Northumberland and the North East region. Though the locality is rural, peaceful and very quiet, the main A1 trunk road is only five minutes away, meaning that the whole of Northumberland, from Hadrian's Wall to the walled town of Berwick upon Tweed, from the Kielder water park to the adjacent spectacular coast and castles, are all within about an hour's drive. The city of Newcastle, with Gateshead's famous Sage music and culture centre are reached within half and hour, ideal for days out, or an evening's entertainment. Venturing a little further will open up the attractions of County Durham, with Durham City's famous medieval cathedral.
You will find that Northumberland Cottage is ideally placed as a touring base within Northumberland. From here, you can range as far as you like, taking in places of interest as suit your own preferences.History abounds in this much fought-over region, as does early Christian Heritage. Opportunities for more active breaks are numerous, and for those who enjoy nature, see ourEngland's northernmost county, Northumberland is large.
