Nigg Ferry Hotel enjoys an enviable situation, standing, as it does on the north shore of the entrance to the Cromarty Firth with a commanding view across the Firth to Cromarty village - also to the east between the Sutor Cliffs, to the open Moray Firth. Dolphins can often be seen in the Firth and otters too, nearby, while the North Sutor cliffs are home to many seabirds.

This is the drier and sunnier side of Scotland and the region enjoys a very favorable microclimate.

There are usually several oil rigs further into the Firth and up to 20 cruise liners pass the hotel in each direction during the summer months. on visits to nearby Invergordon.
