Nia-Roo Lodge is a beautiful granite stone Victorian house, built around the mid 1800's as a gentlemen's residence, in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. It has seven individual rooms, which are all fully en-suite, private car park, and a licensed lounge bar for the exclusive use of our guests.
The house has been lovingly refurbished over the last four years and tastefully decorated to provide 21st century comforts, but at the same time, re-capturing the splendour of the Victorian Era. It is a 'Haven in the Highlands', where our guests can relax after a long day of sight-seeing with maybe a 'wee dram' before bedtime, and after a good nights sleep wake up to a hearty breakfast to set them up for the new day.

  | We have five breakfast choices, which range from a traditional Scottish to a Continental Style breakfast with fresh baked bread and patisseries (baked in the morning), with a fresh fruit platter typically consisting of grapes, kiwi fruit, fresh strawberries, melon and sliced banana. We use only the best produce to create a fabulous start to the day.
All rooms have full en-suite shower rooms with luxury bath sheets, tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities, colour television and quality toiletries.

 /> | The house is situated just 150m from the centre of the village, where there is a wealth of quaint shops, pubs and restaurants surrounding the picturesque Caledonian Canal, which passes through Fort Augustus. Watch the boats as they navigate the five staircase lock system designed by Thomas Telford, which opens up into Loch Ness itself, from which there are boat trips for all you 'nessie spotters'.
Fort Augustus itself is situated in the centre of the Highlands, which makes sight-seeing journeys so wonderful. Great days out to Fort William (Ben Nevis), Drumnadrochit, Inverness, the Black isle, the Isle of Skye, Glen Affric, Glen Coe and the West Coast (especially on the Steam Railway from Fort William to Mallaig).
