 | Welcome to Moorlands
We offer quality Bed and Breakfast accommodation at our Georgian country guest house in the village of Hutton in Somerset, close to the seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare and the famous Cheddar Gorge.
We receive our guests like friends and we want you to feel at home and relaxed during your holiday or short break. All our guests are accommodated with a full English breakfast and the house is usually open at all times during the day. There is ample car-parking space in the grounds.
Moorlands is a large attractive Georgian house, near the centre of Hutton Village and standing in about one and a half acres of mature landscaped gardens. The village of Hutton lies under the steep, wooded slopes of the western Mendips, where excellent walking presents sea views as far as Exmoor and the hills of South Wales.
We're open all year round, so come and stay with us in Spring or Autumn, when the countryside here is particularly beautiful. We recommend, for example, November, the season of the spectacular and unique illuminated Winter Camivals, held in the towns of Somerset, including Weston. |

Things to do
We are confident that you will have an enjoyable stay with us in Somerset...there's so much to see and do for all the family!
From Moorlands you can explore the Mendips and surrounding countryside including the Somerset levels, local beaches, Chew Valley lake and Cheddar Caves & Gorge.
The local walks and cycle paths take you through the peaceful West country, where you can breathe fresh air and enjoy the peace and quiet away from the cities.
There are many country inns en route where you can take a rest and enjoy good food, ale and of course some Somerset Cider! - Thatcher's Cider Company and shop is less than 5 miles away! - From here, you may decide to join the famous Strawberry Line Heritage Trail, which is an 8 mile traffic free route through the heart of North Somerset linking the Levels to the Mendip Hills.
Hutton is a great centre for day-outings. Weston-super-Mare with its safe, sandy beaches and traditional holiday attractions, including Jill's Garden, a beautiful horticultural tribute to one of Westons' best loved celebrities Jill Dando and of course, the newly built and restored pier is only a ten minute drive.
Bath, Bristol, Cheddar, Wells and the "King Arthur's" country around Glastonbury are all less than an hour's drive or can easily be reached by public transport.
And, if the children tire of the beaches, Weston's famously re-built Pier, or the donkeys and amusement arcades, then Court Farm Country Park, Banwell is just 8mins away - a bit over 2 miles. Puxton Park, Hewish approx. a 15min drive 5 miles and Brean Leisure Park is just 20 minutes away - 8 miles.
There is a wide choice of outdoor pursuits, all within easy reach, including several golf courses; good angling (fly, coarse and sea); adventure caving; the Avon dry ski slope; an excellent sports centre.
Approximately 30 minutes from Bristol International Airport. |
