Moignes Court is a 13th century manor house with a first floor hall, and is of interest to serious students of architecture. Nearby is a redundant 19th century estate brick kiln. Parts of the moat, that used to surround the house, still exist. Although there have been Victorian additions made to the house, the B&B is in the most ancient part, built in 1267. |

| Local Attractions Moignes Court is only a short drive away from many miles of Dorset's famous Jurassic Coast, a world heritage site with many beautiful, interesting and celebrated landmarks, including Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Kimmeridge Bay. The South West Coast Path is only a couple of miles away and provides spectacular views of this famous coastline, as well as some good exercise in the form of walking a swimming! Also close by is Wareham forest, Maiden Castle (an Iron Age hill fort), the Hardy Monument (erected in memory of a commander at the Battle of Trafalgar, not the local author!) and Lulworth Castle. Cyclists can explore the area along winding, climbing lanes and a network of byways. Nearby is Dorchester, the county town of Dorset since 1305, in which are many interesting museums and good places to eat out. |

Directions From Dorchester, take the A352 east. After 7 miles, turn left into Owermoigne. We are on the right at the north end of the village. Our nearest train station is Moreton/Dorset. Rooms We have one double bedroom, equiped with TV. Tea/coffee making facilities are available in the adjoining dining room, hot showers in the bathroom. All room are centrally heated. Meals Breakfast is available from 7-10 a.m in the dining room. Dinner is also available by request - orders must be placed before 8pm. Parking There is plenty of space for cars.
