| Welcome The Mansion House is thought to have been built as early as 1681, although its style is that of the Queen Anne period (1702-1714). It's best known as the birthplace of Sir Norman Angell, the Nobel Peace Prize Winner of 1933 who was born in the house in 1872. The Blue Plaque to the right of the door celebrates this famous man. Today this fine historic building has been sympathetically restored to a high standard as a modern hotel and restaurant (Angell's Restaurant). The hotel offers a high standard of accommodation combining both the history of the building with the best of modern technology including Internet Access and Satellite Television. The Hotel is conveniently situated in the heart of Holbeach, a thriving town with much history and fine architecture. It's also centrally placed for visitors who want to explore the local area or have business in the nearby centres of Spalding, Boston, Kings Lynn or Peterborough all of which are no more than about 20 minutes drive from here. Inside this no-smoking establishment you'll find a high standard of accommodation with most of the tastefully decorated rooms en-suite.
