About Us
Magdalen House, is a Norfolk Brick and Flint cottage built in 1829 and retains many original features. It is situated in the former Anglo Saxon settlement of 'Buntings' and boasts a quiet environment, range of wildlife and rural setting. It is within 5 miles of Oxburgh Hall (National Trust), Gooderstone Water Gardens and the Iceni Village in the heart of West Norfolk, an area famed for its ancient churches, windmills and village signs. It is central for exploring the historic towns of King's Lynn, Swaffham, Ely, Norwich, Bury St. Edmunds and Cambridge, and for visiting Sandringham, Norfolk Lavender, Pensthorpe Waterfowl Park and Thetford Forest, amongst many other places of interest.
West Norfolk is an excellent area for cycling, bird watching, fishing and rambling. We can offer storage for cycles, and packed lunches can be provided on request. |  |

The cottage style double bedroom and private bathroom are situated in one corridor of Magdalen house offering a real "home from home" style of accommodation. |
The room is centrally heated with a well appointed private bathroom. Full tea and coffee making facilities, a colour TV and a DVD player.
A full English Breakfast is freshly cooked to guests' individual requirements. In the evening most guests enjoy sampling the excellent fare of the many attractive country pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area.
There is a dedicated parking area for guests.

"Next Door" is a fully self-contained 4 star rated apartment that will delight, from honeymoon to holidays. It has been designed to accommodate couples or two singles sharing a room. It has ramped access and is wheelchair accessible.
We provide a 24hour laundry service at extra cost and an ironing board and iron are available on request.
For those guests with mobility or other impairments we have National Accessibility rating of level 2. Please ask for details of other equipment available.
There is ample parking space and we are happy to store wheelchairs or mobility scooters in our garage.
Outside is your own private patio with furniture, umbrella and a selection of fresh herbs in your garden.

The Lounge The living/dining area has a free view television and DVD player, leather sofa and light oak dining suite.
The Bedroom In the bedroom adjacent to the en suite wet floor shower room you will find electric profiling beds and ample storage space
The Kitchen The fully fitted galley kitchen contains a fridge, freezer, gas hob, electric double oven and grill with extractor, dishwasher, microwave and coffee maker. There is a full range of cooking utensils, crockery and glassware. Basic larder provisions such as salt, pepper, vinegar (balsamic and malt) and olive oil will be ready for you. Utility charges are included in the rental.
The Shower Room All linen, including towelling dressing gowns, washing up liquid and cleaning materials is provided. "Next Door" is Wi Fi accessible.

The garden at Magdalen House was created from scratch. There are many 'rooms' to be explored and sat in. Guests are invited to wander but need to know we have dogs who may join you, and therefore it is vital that all gates remain shut. If you have the urge to 'weed', please feel free.
Overall, our plot is 2.8 acres, with paddocks containing our Carriage driving horses, Bobby D and Del Boy.
Enquiries about Carriage rides, Pub drives, and 'Groom Days' are welcome, at extra costs.
