An excellent base to explore Robbie Burns Country and an easy drive to historic Edinburgh and Glasgow. It is a perfect venue for country house hotel style wedding ceremonies. Situated in beautiful gardens, surrounded by Mabie's parkland forest, yet only a small jaunt from Dumfries town centre.

Offering everything from a lunchtime sandwich with the children to a lavish dinner in the Old Library Dining Room, Mabie House has something for everyone. The bright airy bar lounge with fantastic views across the Solway offers top quality local produce, including seafood and game along with the more traditional dining fayre.

Whether it is a relaxing break with time spent exploring the forest, following the Solway Heritage Trail, visiting the many historic castles and gardens, walking along the local beaches nearby or an invigorating 'outdoor break' which could include cycling, mountain biking on the 7 stanes route, horse riding or shooting.

Accommodation

We have ten en-suite rooms including the honeymoon suite, all refurbished to the highest standard.

Enjoy beautiful views over the gardens and Solway estuary in quiet peaceful surroundings.

Room 1 is a suite with its own lounge area and overlooks the front lawn where many wedding ceremonies take place.This room is always very poplular with the bride to be as it allows plenty of space to prepare for the big day.

Room prices start at £70.00 for a double room up to £140.00 for a luxury suite.

Single occupancy available from £45.00.

Children staying in their parents room are free of charge and only pay for meals.

The price includes full Scottish breakfast.

Dinner, bed and breakfast rates are also available as well as special break packages.

Nearby Dumfries is the resting place of Scotland's Bard, Robert Burns, who was inspired by the beauty of the tranquil Galloway landscape, in which Mabie House features.

The Solway Coast is an ideal cycle route with beautiful scenery and many stop-off points and coastal villages.

Mountain Biking
