Lymehurst Hotel is centrally situated in the charming town of Grange over Sands which retains much of its Victorian character. The hotel itself is a beautiful Victorian building with a welcoming and peaceful atmosphere, spacious airy feel and retains many original features.![]() The hotel is personally run by resident owners, Kevin and Andrew, who promote a friendly relaxed atmosphere with high standards of comfort and cleanliness to make your stay a most enjoyable one. Lymehurst is licensed and fully non smoking and there is ample car parking for guests. |
| Accommodation All bedrooms are en-suite and offer spacious well appointed and comfortable accommodation with television, hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Some of the bedrooms are particularly spacious with sitting areas and are ideal for longer breaks. Two bedrooms are situated on the ground floor (although there are some steps up to the front door). The most spacious of these is our Premier bedroom which includes the additional luxury of a king size brass bed. ![]() There is a comfortable ground floor lounge where guests can relax, browse through the local information provided, or enjoy a drink. ![]() To make the most of the mild local climate there is a peaceful sun terrace. |
| Food and Drink Breakfast at Lymehurst are freshly prepared and leisurely served between 8:30 and 9:15 (or earlier by special arrangement). ![]() Breakfast Menu Buffet selection of fruit juices, cereals, fruit, and yoghurt. (Porridge is available on request). Our full Cumbrian Breakfast consists of bacon, sausage, friend egg, tomato and mushrooms. (Vegetarian option available). Alternatively eggs can be boiled, scrambled or poached. Choice of brown, white or mixed toast. Honey and assorted jams and marmalades. Choice of freshly brewed coffee or tea. Chilled bottles of mineral water, still or sparkling. We also offer a choice of omlettes, smoked haddock and poached egg or smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. |
| Lymestone Restaurant Lymestone Restaurant is locater on the lower ground floor of the hotel and will be open for lunch and dinner every day. All food is sourced from local suppliers and prepared by Master Chef of Great Britain member, Kevin Wyper and his team. ![]() We also have a wide choice of beers, wines and spirits to compliment your meal, which also may be enjoyed on the terrace in the summer months. |
| Grange over Sands Grange over Sands is easily accessible by road or by mainline railway with a direct line from Manchester. It offers an ideal base to explore the many attractions of Southern Lakeland. Here are also a variety of organised excursions available locally. For those wanting to spend time relaxing in the town there is the lovely promenade, attractive ornamental gardens, a wide selection of tearooms and many interesting local shops. Grange is known as the Lakeland Riviera due to the gentle climate resulting fro its sheltered coastal position. The views across the bay are spectacular and ever changing. The local fells provide stunning scenery and are easily accessible. Numerous local walks start close by the hotel such as the Hampsfell Nature Trail, the Cistercian Way, and the Cumbria Coastal Path. For the more intrepid there are guided walks across the bay and the Cumbria Cycle Way. These can easily be combined with the excellent public transport by road and rail to provide a convenient return journey. There are two local golf courses, both welcome non members. |

| How to Find Us By Road Leave M6 at junction 36 and follow A590 towards Barrow in Furness for about 8 miles until a roundabout at the end of a stretch of dual carriageway where Grange over Sands is signed left on the B5277. Take this turn and follow signs for Grange over Sands. On entering the town pass the train station on your left and turn left at the first roundabout into Main Street. At the top of the hill turn right at the mini roundabout and at the next junction turn left into Kents Bank Road.The Hotel is about 300 yards on the right. By Rail Grange over Sands has a mainline station in the town and there is a direct line from Manchester and Lancaster. The hotel is approximately half a mile from the station.
