Welcome to Luccombe Hall Country House Hotel ![]() Luccombe Hall Country House Hotel was originally built in 1870 as the summer palace for the Bishop of Portsmouth. This lovely, family-run hotel commands the best position and the best selection of facilities of any hotel on the Isle of Wight. With magnificent views of the bay, the hotel has direct access to the beach and the old village of Shanklin and yet is away from traffic noise. Shanklin is the ideal place to stay and has a varied selection of shops, restaurants and bars, all within easy walking distance from the hotel. There are also some lovely walks through parks and along the coast line in both directions, near to the hotel. |

| Bedrooms Luccombe Hall Country House Hotel's bedrooms are spacious and attractively furnished, with modern amenities. Facilities include en-suite bedrooms, clock radio, colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephones and baby listening in all rooms.
Upgraded rooms are available at a surcharge. Sea facing rooms benefit from a magnificent view across the gardens towards the sea, taking in the sweep of Sandown Bay. Superior rooms are situated on the first floor and have a wider view across the bay. Most of these rooms have been recently refurbished to a high specification and some benefit from spa baths and DVD players. All superior rooms are non-smoking. Our 2 executive rooms offer the highest level of accommodation. They both have magnificent sea views which can be enjoyed from the private balcony. King size four poster beds add that additional touch of decadence. There is also a spa bath in the bathroom and a DVD player in the spacious bedroom. Both executive rooms are non-smoking. We have several family rooms suitable for families of 3, 4 or 5 persons. We also have a limited number of interconnecting rooms. Cots are available to hire. |
| Grand View Restaurant... The Grand View Restaurant certainly lives up to its name with views across the gardens and the sea. The restaurant has been recently refurbished to a high standard and benefits from the addition of a conservatory area ideal for couples.
Our five course Table D'hote menu is varied daily and includes vegetarian dishes. Our Island renowned Head Chef, Michael Fuller is proud to offer a selection of traditional and more creative dishes with home-made desserts a speciality. Special diets can usually be catered for with advance notification. Our menu is complimented by an extensive wine list of over 50 wines from around the world. Our friendly and courteous restaurant staff will attend to your every need. Our Evening Dinner is served from 6.30pm to last orders at 8.30pm. Children's teas are served from 5.30pm to 6pm and should be ordered with reception before 12 noon. Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 9.30am. Sandwiches and light snacks are available throughout the day. |
| Bishops Bar The Bishops Bar is the ideal venue for a pre-dinner aperitif or relaxing after dinner drink. Especially cosy in the winter is the Bishops Snug which offers secluded seating and a roaring open fire. There is a varied entertainment programme featuring live Island performers. David Randini The Magician performs Table Magic in the Restaurant, weekly. Should you need a few minutes to escape, our Quiet Lounge offers a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the latest novel or simply to complete your crossword. |
