| Sleights is ideal for bother country and a seaside holiday. It is just 3 ½ miles from Whitby, the picturesque east coastline and on the edge of the moors and attractive moorland villages such as Goathland - of TV's Heartbeat fame - 4 miles away and Grosmont, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway terminus, is also within a few minutes drive. Ruswarp, 1 ½ miles away, has a nine hole Miniature Golf Course, a Miniature Steam Railway and Tea Rooms as well as Boating, Canoeing and Fishing on the River Esk. Both pubs in Sleights lay on food and one has Saturday night entertainment. Other amenities include a Petrol / Service Station, Antiques Shops, a Fish and Chip Shop with restaurant, and excellent General Store and a Butcher and Baker - both of national renown. Sleights is also the bus and train routes, the pick up points just ¼ mile from Lowdale Cottage. |

| Weekly holidays operate Saturday to Saturday. Your cottage will be available from 2 pm onwards and must be vacated by 10am the following Saturday. Bookings are only accepted on the condition that the holidaymaker will not claim compensation for the loss of the holiday, should the owners have to cancel this booking, the deposit will be returned in full. |
| Sleights is on the A169m Whitby to Pickering road, approximately 3 ½ miles from Whitby. On arrival in Sleights go to the Salmon Leap Pub (Whitby end of Sleights). Pass the front of the Salmon Leap, go approximately 20 metres to the Railway Station, turn right, go another 20 metres, bear left over the bridge (a sign on the bridge says Lowdale Nurseries). Follow the road round to the Sports Pavilion. Lowdale Cottage is a stone built property to the right. |
