Recognised as the centre of England with it's ancient Stone Cross and Cyclists' Memorial, there is also a very old church, St Lawrence's, the foundation being laid by Lady Godiva. Nearby is BERKSWELL with its own min. museum, windmill and stocks. HAMPTON-IN-ARDEN boasts a 13th century pack-horse bridge and some well preserved 17th century houses. WALKING There are some excellent footpaths for the energetic, through beautiful countryside. The Heart of England Way is nearby. KENILWORTH offers a castle in ruin, whereas WARWICK Castle is complete with Madam Tussaud's waxwork people, including Winston Churchill, as a young man.
