Just over two miles from Rhayader are the beautiful Elan Valley Reservoirs where the Red Kite and other birds of prey can be seen in their natural surroundings.
These magnificent birds can also be seen when they are fed daily at the Gigrin Farm, Rhayader between mid October and mid April.
