Henley on Thames is a perfect stop over before and after flights using Heathrow, and is an ideal base when visiting Reading (20 minutes by car), Oxford and Windsor (take approximately 40 minutes by car). London can be reached by car and bus in one hour fifteen minutes or by train in one hour. The M4 and M40 are within easy reach. Henley itself has a large amount to offer as an historic town which hosts the famous "Royal Henley Regatta" when oars men from all over the world meet to row for coveted trophies. Immediately after the Regatta, the site is amazingly transformed into a romantic venue with a floating stage, top class restaurants and high class artists perform a four night Music Festival. The award winning River and Rowing Museum, Henley-on-Thames designed by David Chipperfield, hosts many superb special exhibitions on a regularly changing basis. Walkers, Cyclists and Ramblers are all given a warm welcome in the area. The Thames Path, Oxfordshire Way and The Chilterns - famous now for the Red Kites - are all just a stone through away from Lenwade. | General Information Breakfast: At Lenwade we pride ourselves in offering the best possible breakfast Items where possible are locally sourced. We have a menu and freshly cook your choice to order. Our buffet table offers a selection of dried and fresh fruits, yoghurts, nuts, cheese and a selection of juices. There is no set time for breakfast which may be taken at a time suitable to our guests. Our bread is usually home baked. Languages Spoken: French and English Parking: ample parking on and some off road Services: we are happy to arrange taxis and book restaurants prior to your arrival, boat trips and bicycles can be pre booked too. Restrictions: we have a no smoking policy |
| Directions to Lenwade Directions from London From M4 take exit 8/9 signposted Henley. Proceed on A4130 to Henley Bridge traffic lights. Turn left and keep the river on your left* until the road bears right at Hobb's Boatyard. Proceed to 'T' junction and turn left into Reading Road. Turn third right into St.Andrew's Road. Over the crossroads the next left turn is Western Road. Lenwade is on the left. Directions from Oxford Proceed along the A4130 until Henley town center, follow the one-way system and when at the traffic lights on Henley Bridge, go straight over and follow as above*. Directions from M40 North Exit junction 6 and Proceed to Watlington then Nettlebed, pick up the A4130 proceed as above*. |
